1946-1955

1946    February 1                   Hikosuke Tamasu established the business of Tamasu Sports

Store in Yanai city, Japan *Registered on July 1"

February 1                   Opened "Tamasu Sports Store Tokyo Satellite Office" in Mabashi, Tokyo, Japan

1949    March                          "Released Butterfly table tennis rubbers and blades

* Started business with two distributors in Japan"

1950    December 19              Established Tamasu Co., Ltd. with one (1) million yen in capital.

Headquarter situated in Yanai city, Japan. Giichi Tamasu became the first president and Hikosuke Tamasu the executive managing director with twelve (12) board members (including part-time members) and fourteen (14) employees.

1952    October 26                  "Purchased the land where the head office is currently located

(about 860m2) Moved the Tokyo Satellite office there and changed the name to Tokyo Branch"

1953    June                            Commenced in-house production of table tennis blades at Tokyo

branch

1954    February                      Built the blade production factory (factory one) inside Tokyo

1959    February                      Established a warehouse in Ogikubo, Tokyo (Used until around

December                   Giichi Tamasu became the chairman and Hikosuke Tamasu the

second president

1961                                        Released BIRIBA series

1961    May                             Released table tennis tables

1961    September 20              Commenced operation in Tama factory

1964    June                            Occurred Cor du Buy case, a legal case in Germany regarding

trademark

December                   Completed the head office main building (three stories above the ground and one underground story)

1973    January                       Established the European subsidiary, Tamasu Butterfly Europa

GmbH (TBE) in Moers, Germany (at that time)

            June 22                       Giichi Tamasu passed away (at the age of 77)

1977    August                         Extended the head office building and established Butterfly Love, a training

hall on the fifth floor

1978    January                       Released TAMCA 5000 series (carbon)

1983    April                             Established Butterfly Dohjo adjacent to the head office building

1986                                        "Colorisation movement of table tennis started

Blue tables, orange balls and white wears were introduced"

1987    May                             Rakugo Takkyu Club inaugurated (the team consists of Japanese

comedians)

1988                                        Large ball table tennis was introduced

1991    November                   Released KEY SHOT, a blade with a new material "Arylate"

December                   Hikosuke Tamasu became chairman and Kimihiko Tamasu the third president

1992                                        Table Tennis boom occurred in Japan

1993    November                   Released VISCARIA, a blade with a new material

"Arylate-Carbon"

            November 1                 "Completed Butterfly distribution center inside Tokorozawa

Factory Set up Butterfly table tennis dohjo on the fifth floor"

1997    July                              Released BRYCE, the world's first High Tension rubber

(at JPY5,000 per piece then)

1998    May                             Presentation of a movie with the motif of table tennis attracted

people's attention in Japan

2000    September                  Balls were officially changed 38mm to 40mm

            December 19              Celebrated the 50th anniversary of foundation

2002    July                              A movie "PING PONG" attracted people's attention in Japan and

table tennis grew in popularity

2003    January                       Established the Chinese subsidiary, Tamasu International

Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (TBC) in Shanghai, China

2004    July 22                         Hikosuke Tamasu passed away (at the age of 83)

2005    December                   Shunsaku Yamada became the fourth president

2006    April                             Established the research institute "Butterfly Technical Center" in

Nasushiobara city, Japan

2007    April                             Released PHOTINO, a blade with a new material "ZL-Fiber"

September                  Released AMULTART and HALUVATART, blades with a new material "ZL-Carbon"

                                                Celebrated the 50th anniversary of "Table Tennis Report"

2008    April                             Released the first TENERGY equipped with Spring Sponge,

TENERGY 05 (at JPY6,000 per piece then)

2009    February                      Established the Korean Subsidiary, Tamasu Butterfly Korea Inc.

(TBK) in Seoul, Korea

            April                             "Engaged in the 2009 World Table Tennis Championships in

Yokohama as one of the equipment suppliers and sponsors
Butterfly three-star balls were used at the world event for the first time"

            November                   Became the naming sponsor of a gymnasium in Yanai city, Japan

Named it "Butterfly Arena"

2010    May                             "Engaged in the 2010 World Table Tennis Championships in

Moscow as one of the equipment suppliers and sponsors

Butterfly three-star balls were used again at the world event"

            December 19              Celebrated the 60th anniversary of foundation

2011    March                          Completed the research facility inside Tokorozawa factory and

moved the research center from Butterfly Technical Center to Tokorozawa

2012    March                          Opened the official website of Table Tennis Report,

takurepo.com Engaged in the 2012 World Table Tennis Championships in Dortmund as one of the equipment suppliers and sponsors

Provided the original show-court table ""The Earth 2012"""
